Ok then,  so tell us a little about the mix?

I was waiting for my girlfriend. She’s been away for a week and it’s been one of the first sunny days in Hamburg, I was in a happy mood. I didn’t make a preselection, it just had the right flow. I was dancing in my living room behind the knobs and faders while recording and I had a big smile when my girlfriend arrived ….. so, it’s a little “emo” [laughs]

What’s the weirdest thing that’s happened to you while you’ve been playing?

It was early morning around 6am when some girls came to me and screamed “Hey dj, play us some Romanian music”, while I had a Dubfire track burning. I had to say sorry, I don’t have anything, so they threw 5 euro at me, “Heyyyyy play some Romanian music, come on!!!!!”. I gave the money back and tried to manage the situation with a smile, but the moment I gave back the money, one of them grabbed my arm and bit heavily, then smiled… crazy Romanian vampire bitch. Was left standing there staring in disbelief at my ’stamped’ arm. Some days later I realized that I had some Romanian tracks with me.

What’s happening in the studio at the moment?

Working on a new remix for Clark Davis on Fassade Records, and soon a dubby EP on a small but nice digital label.

What’s on your ‘Pod?

Oolala! The tracklist is big. Selected dj sets, Velvet Underground (my all-time favs), Mouse on Mars (strange), Marc Houle (straight), Tocotronic (sweet), Aphex Twin (all-time goodies), The Smiths, Beastie Boys and some inditronic-singer-songwriter stuff by Dreigroschenoper (love it!). I also have a big big collection of non house music …..

Any hot new artist recommendations?

Die Hautiere from Italy. They’ve made some damn good tracks and more will follow.

Tell us about your label Denkbar?

Denkbar is about feelings.
Style has little value to us.

I had the idea of starting the label back in 2001.
I had always wished to release vinyl, but could only make this happen 8 years later. I suggested to Michel that we try release our own tracks and he thought this was a valid idea. That was the start of Denkbar.

Now we’re preparing to release our third record, denkbar003, a B.A.D project (Bvoice, Anrilov, Danilov) featuring a remix by another well known house musician. We have Grandiose plans for denkbar004 which will be a joint release with DOP, who demand quality work!

Any hot new artist recommendations?

Imugem Orihasam makes very nice house music.

Ableton or Traktor?

I use Ableton for my live performance, and for dj sets I use Vinyl and CD.

Clubbing in Russia, where’s it at?

Shanti Club and Propaganda, but my favorite is Arma 17 in Moscow – very great place!
